This was an old bank on Bay Street Port Melbourne. The new tennant requested that we remove walls, fixtures and furniture and the carpet tiles on the floor.
We first removed the carpet tiles and grinded the carpet adhesive off the floor. The carpet adhesive was very thick and we needed to use sand and water whilst grinding off the carpet adhesive to stop it from melting and sticking to the floor again.
When we had a clean concrete floor we then applied a Ardex screed to the floor to fill in slots that were cut into the floor for electrical wires.
We then applied a SIKA brand densifier to help bring out the ceramic texture in the floor when we coat the floor. Once dried we applied a clear polyurethane gloss coating to the entire floor area.
